Default what is wrong with my engine?

hi folks. i have recently bought a 2003 wrx turbo privately which was a european import. when i drive the car the power seems to be pulsing. it is worse at 3/4 throtle than full. i have checked all pipe work,changed the boost cont.sol., checked the air filter checked the idle valve,wast gate operation. has anyone got any ideas?? many thanks

Any one know if 03's had problems with the MAF sensor fouling/degrading ??
thought id seen this one some where else, might just be me......

Check the oil level isn't too high. Try cleaning out all the pipes from the boost solenoid with carb cleaner.

thanks but i have done that i also changed it at the same time

Not wanting to teach you how to suck eggs, but remove all associated pipework from the boost solenoid (Both of them) take them off the car and blow them through with cleaner, spray cleaner into the connection on your main induction hose that the longer of the 2 solenoid hoses goes too.

Give the boost solenoid a clean again, if you just replaced it it could have been contaminated straight away when you drove it.

I have had to do several MY01-02 cars 3 times before it cured the pulsing on power also make sure the oil is below max when the car is hot.

thanks zippy, will try that . i have also replaced fuel filter,air filter,plugs,maf. will try anything !!
