Spec C 1/4 mile times???
Have recently brought a spec C WR Limited Type 20 "05 spec". Its mapped to 340bhp & 340lb.
Just paid Santa pod a visit & wondering if anyone else has done a quarter mile run?
If so what times did you get or what times would you expect???
Or any one with an o5 spec sti with similar spec what times???
I’m disappointed with the times I got and not sure if my expectations were too high all info/advise welcome

Im very consistant ran constant 13.5, so dont think its driver error
The peak data display was only reading 1.2bar after the run when it normaly runs a smigin under 1.6bar on road driving?? Why would this be? "the in let temp waz quite high" would it be compensate with low boost levels???

Got 13.9 last week in my standard 04 WRX with 225bhp, 5k rpm dump clutch and off you go. But if the your inlet temps where high then I would say that would be one of the reasons you got 13.5, I reckon you should be in the high 12s easy.

I am pretty sure that all scoobs run lower boost if the intake temps are high to save the car from detting that is why you only ran at 1.2 bar i would guess, 13.5 is still not too bad though, how many miles is on the engine as well? it could still be tight.
The fact it is consistent does not mean to say that there is no 'driver error' - I get very consistent times in my 911 and would regard that as as good as it can do and P20SPD in his very first drive of a 911 ever beat my best time. He also knocked around 0.5s off a highly tuned Scoobs times simply with his technique.
13.5s is not a bad time for a standard-ish car. Getting into the 12s is harder than it looks, the 11s is worse and the 10s very difficult.

Great choice of car BTW, had my WR Limited for just under a year and loving every minute of it.
I could only manage mid 13's.... altho with the diff locked and RE070's i couldnt get traction (cold tyres ) so seems about the same... mine is running 325bhp/348lb...

Would have thought getting the Spec C's in to the late 12's would have been fairly easy. I managed a 13.17 in my WR1 this summer and this was popping my drag strip cherry. Also hit the rev limiter in second gear which must have knocked off some speed.

It does seem a fair bit slower than it should be. A healthy car and a good driver (the value of the latter is not to be underestimated) should be able to post high 12s. I could get 13.4secs (with a slipping clutch) on MY99 UK with just a decat and map.

BHP/TORQUE Comparison figures with someone else that may of had his figures on a different type of RR is irrelevant to a degree.
On a previous comparison run on mine between a DD RR and MAHA RR the DD measured 370ftlb, while the MAHA measured 330ftlb. After changes to the modifications and further testing this went up to 355ftlb on the MAHA, but have not been back to the DD for comparison, but you could safely assume (all things being equal) that it would move up to being in the region of 390ftlb on the DD RR.
Personally I would rather stick with the lower figures myself!

IIRC,
If your intake temp at the airbox is read by the ECU getting to around the 35/36 deg C the ECU will retard the ignition and you will be way down on power.
I your car was sat running stationery it can quite quickly get to that temp.

Tyre pressures are quite vital. I also find it worthwhile to use the burnout box before the line to get rid of the $hit on the tyres.
Goodyear F1s are decent tyres and have been used for 10sec runs on scoobs.
The rest is down to technique.
