Thumbs up Gold Wheel Days Numbered?

When I joined this BBS, oh, many years ago I asked why Subaru put Gold Wheels on their cars ...... I just thought they were hideous and spoke volumes about your masulinity - or not, in this instance!

I was practically hung, drawn and quartered!!

Now, it appears, 5 years down the line, that the tide has swung well and truly into my way of thinking .... am I right??

No-one, surely, can think Gold Wheels are anything other than outdated, tacky, gay icons of a bygone age??

Finally, I may see the day when Gold Wheels are laughed out of town!!

Pete

We have all been laughing at you for years and you are still here!

Nothing wrong with gold wheels, why not ask some WRC drivers?

Dare I say it.....

I agreed with you then Pete, and I agree with you now!

I've had four Subarus since joining SN and NONE of them have had gold wheels!

Maybe PSlewis should go away and do a spell check before posting again?
That was his suggestion to me in a different thread a couple of weeks ago!!

I've just bought a set of gold alloys for my WRX, some people like them, some hate them. At the end of the day, I'm not going to start worrying about what people think of them!

I don't think gold wheels are outdated at all, think they look good on Blue or Black Scoobs, a bit questionable on the other colours !!

Before I could afford an impreza and lusted after one I hated gold wheels and thought never never. Now I've got a scoob, I love my gold wheels. They're extremely naff but surely thats the point if you want a car that stands out a bit.

Would you run around the town with a babies nappy on?? Its naff ... but, heyho, it makes you stand out a bit!!

Sadly, doing either makes you look like a right wally!!!

Anthracite or graphite, etc.

Like saying every idiot out there has red brick houses, but that doesn't make stone cladding right!!!

Cool

Got my first Imprezza only a few months ago . . .Before I got it, I was always of the school that gold wheels were tasteles and very vulgar . .However, once at the dealership, I found them to be very cool and seductive! Come on . .Its practically the Subaru trademark! It makes an outstanding car get noticed even more!

Just not the same without them . .

In my opinion, to which we are all entitled to, is that an Impreza is truly represented by a bonnet scoop, a big rear spoiler and a set of gold wheels!
However, i am a big WRC fan so i am biased

I have the best of both worlds, 'cause I don't clean my wheels that often....

Therefore they are anthracite for normal day-to-day driving, and I clean them up to gold for special occasions!!

In which case i suggest you find something better to do than put posts on a web site when you don't want other peoples views/comments or OPINIONS!
Lets face it by the number of posts you have made you obviously have far too much time on your hands

He's just counting the minutes till the Grim Reaper visits. At the rate he ages (7 years in a month) it won't be long now, I for one will pay some dough towards sticking him in DBM coffin with gold handles and a huge knocklink on the interior door
