Question Diesel Saloon around £3k..? Ideas

As per title if it sell my STi5 i will be a fter another car to run me around until next year.. prefer diesel as i may be doing a lot of miles and 4 door so kids can get in/out and a decent size boot for the wife.!! Sorry i mean luggage and stuff
was thinking along the lines of a MY98+ Passat TDi/A4 Tdi a lot are high miles but solid cars if maintained properly..? any common faults..? any alternatives?

Cheers

VAG Diesels are your best bet - or LPG run 7 series BMW's ! They will all have beyond 100k - so ensure FSH and cambelt change. If it looks a ****ter walk away. I don't think there are any mechanical issues though. But if you speak to any VAG dealer or BMW and ask if there were any problems or recalls etc they can help out with that.

Cheers

I'm going to go for a mondeo TDCI, lots of car for the money a 51-52 plate would have took all the hit on depreciation.
