Angry Car Jacking - Beware!

Just a quick note to warn you that there appears to be a gang targetting Subaru Impreza drivers around Stockport. The latest person was confronted by 2 masked men, one with a shotgun in Reddish who demanded the keys for the car. The police think it is the same people who have confronted another driver in the past. I have also been told that there was another carjacking attempt on Kingways in Burnage. Beware fellow drivers.

Guy's/gals, my advice would be to keep your doors locked and when
pulling up behind another car, leave yourself enough room to take avasive action should you need to.

Above all, be safe.

My advice would be to burn them to a crisp.

Agreed coming from B'ham your constantly looking in your rear view mirror , scoobys are the No1 target in brum for jackers, only a couple of months ago their were 2 incidents in the solihull area, one where a man was followed home just as he left his car to open his garage he had a gun pointed at him as the jackers just helped themselves to his car , and in another incident the jackers threw a mans 2 children and wife out the car while he was in the shop, worse still they pulled up in a red wagon... Very out of date Im afraid. They countered this quite quickly by throwing a bucket of petrol over the car before 'jacking' it.....

It wasn't actually posted with the intent of offering a carefully considered, intellectually sound proposition Simon - so don't be too afraid.

Bucket of petrol.....crafty buggers!

Don't worry; I wasn't offering a carefully considered warning about the bucket of petrol.....!

readin threads like this is worrying, especially becoming a new owner of the scooby.
a member on my old elise site had his scooby hijacked we was dragged down round and flung off his own car at 40mph now has metal shoulder. cant be nice,
only thing i can suggest is keep a nice little can of spray thats quite nasty, but if a gun is being used there is no defence

I suggest you as someone has mentioned, leave enough room each time you stop to allow for a quick escape should you be confronted.

At the end of the day, your car can be replaced easily, even with mods so dont always try and kill them first.

guys walking the streets with shooters are bold enough to do anything IMHO.

not good to hear though

Rob - Don't let these Bas**rds (Sorry, i know) spoil what might be for you a dream car.

These incidents are far and few between, it just apauls (Spelling) me that decent
folk who work hard to have a nice car have this happen to them.

Don't let it sway you, get the car and enjoy it !!!!

The kingsway attack was on a black evo 8,ironically the scummy police ended up arresting the owners of the evo because they dint belive that they fought them off as the attackers had guns.

Carry a container of petrol - water mix in the car and a lighter (only a small amount of petrol, to get the smell).

If hijacked, throw it over them and hold the lighter up - I can almost guarantee they will run!!

Failing that, a shotgun has great anti-hijack qualities.

Yeah like anyone would do that with a gun in their face.

£200 For Blackjaxx - I'd get out with no quibbles, call the police to escort me back to my car which will be less than a mile away abandoned... That's the plan anyhoo...

I had an autowatch anti hijack fitted to my 05 JDM linked to trackstar, so you hand over keys (not too willingly otherwise they may suspect you are allowing them to nick a lemon, lol), off they go grinning like thieving scum do....30 seconds later the car horn starts honking at them, the grinning scum start to realise all may not be well, lights start to flash and eventually it cuts out after a minute from making off - in the meantime, phone Trackstar, they tell you where it is and you go and fetch it - job done, all in under 5 minutes circa £160, everyone should have one for a it of piece of mind.

Now, THAT is worth £160!!

Buy one instead of a CockLink and its FREE!!!! (it also has the side effect that you don't look like a dick, who needs stupid lights to impress the 14 year olds!!)

You can't help wanting to do something like this but chances are it would probably backfire (literally) in a dangerous way if you tried it. Th ecrooks would probably end up suing you
