If I put a turbo from a 98 on in to a UK 02 WRX with PPP and decat, is it safe or will she blow?

I'm about to buy a turbo off a kind Scoobynetter but before I do want to check. The turbo is out of a bug eye 01 but can't be 100% certain it was the original so that's why I'm wondering what the situation would be if it was from a 98 on.....

I don't want to keep the seller hanging on so kind of need to know pretty quickly!

pretty sure they are both td04's if the 98 is a uk that is

best wait for someone who knows for sure though

 

Oh, it's a TD04 for sure - have pics to confirm that, just have heard that there are some variations in performance from year to year. Just playing safe as I've spent far more than I can really afford so don't want another new engine just yet as I had a new short motor 25k back!
