Just bought some of this CD2 stuff from Halfrauds to clean my engine bay (as I'm going to be selling the car ) and was just wondering whether this process of cleaning is going to leave a 'orrible slimy oily mess all over my nice driveway(s) (if I do it on driveway 1, then that's a light coloured gravel, driveway 2 is nice new tarmac - with a couple of trolley jack dents in it )

 

Depends how dirty your engine is

I did mine and left no real mess

I just power washed the drive down

 

Hmm, it's quite mucky (5 years old, 85000 miles and never cleaned) but I guess not oily.

 

I would definately put something under the car to catch all the oil and stuff. I did my MY03 and although it wasn't very dirty it still left a bit of a mess on the road outside our house

It specifically tells you not to do it on a tarmac drive on the can aswell.

 

get a longer hose and do it on the path outside ure house ......that pavement stuff can take a good beating....not a mark on it while im sure my red tarmac drive would be a little patchy by now

 

Trouble is the road is about 50 metres from the house! Might go to plan B and do it at the local garage

 

Just remember to take a couple of plastic bags to cover up the alternator /any other obvious electrical bits
