P1 and STI 6

Oh and i understood it that the P1 and STI5 engines were pretty identical, in that they both used the STI pistons, rods and had a red top engine? just different gearboxes due to UK demands....

P1 is sti5 engine for definite. not sure of the difference to the sti6, if any.
stronger than what? its stronger than a WRX motor, but the V5 seems to be particularly prone to MAF related blow ups and big end failure.
think its fair to say the P1/V5 is not the most reliable of scoobies if thats what you are getting at

p1mark, Cheers for the reply, So deffo same as the 5 but unsure on the 6 ?
Im trying to find out if there was any weaknes's in the engines as they are the same.
I.E same engine but different cars so has one got a bad point what the other hasnt if that makes sense ?
