overkill and akward to use for most things, but then you get a siezed suspension bolt or something and they are worth their wieght in gold if you have a big breaker bar as well!

We use them at work, but we work on truck chassis!
A bit big for anything on a scoob.

I think they're overkill on a car.
There isn't anything a 'decent' 1/2"-drive socket can't cope with. I've yet to snap a Snap-on or a Teng Tools kit at home. I've broken a couple of Snap-on tools when I should really have been using an 1" or 1.5" drive while at work (I hope WUZ isn't listening).

The other downside of a 3/4"-drive is the sheer size. Most places are awkward enough to get a 1/2" drive in anyway.
