hmm how do i put this, i love the scooby look, i love the scooby sound but i think the performance sucks. (btw its a UK classic turbo with scooby ecuchip etc etc) its just not as fast as my old cossie and to make it that quick will cost me thousands and i aint rebuilding the scoobs engine just for an extra 100BHP.

So the cossie engine is going to be fitted under the bonnet of the scoob. i have two friends that are both cossie experts and work for a engineering company that can fabricate anything that i my need to make it work.

so does anyone have any tips, has anyone attempted this before if so i would love to hear from you.!!

The cossie engine will have a good 400bhp same as last time.!!

only thing i'm unsure about is the handling afterwards, i was always under the impression that the scoobys handeling was partly due to the engine configuration........

but hey.... my scooby my be 2wd by the time i'm finished and thats the back wheels if you hadent already guessed. i'm 85% sure its going back wheel drive.

Well the sound will be gone... Why not stick in a decent scoob engine? Normal UK turbo's are slow, even my hairdressers car will kick their *** once moving.

 

Cossies sound good too, thing is my mates can tune the cossie to the spec i want without a rolling road and without having to pay them anything more than a few pints down the local, whilst discussing the new project.

and then there is that realiability issue.... with the right choice of parts for the spec required etc its unbreakable.

Now this wont cost me really anthing more that a cossie engine..... already know where i can get a low miles 4x4 engine for less than £600, i'll have the head taken off and checked (free) and all gaskets replaced with those capable of holding the desired bhp level.

i also know of a 2wd cossie which bodywork wise is in really bad shape and its being given away basicly... so running gear covered.

Rather bizzarely there was a Cossie in the last Performance Ford mag with a Subaru engine....obviously likes the exhaust burble I guess.

 

One of those each to their owns with the sound i think. I can't think of a time i've heard a cossie and thought it sounded good. No run of the mill (i.e. not ferrari/porsche etc) cars beat it IMHO.

Your right there mate, get an Sti Lump in it, classic or newage. And from my experiences there a world apart.

Sti Lumps can push 300Brake easily, where as Uk turbos need many modifications to do this.

Although i wouldnt go as far as saying UK turbos are slow
