Default Good price for a 2003 sti UK ppp £17,500

I am going to look at the following scooby with a mate tonight to buy. It sounds like an excelllent car however I am not sure if the price is good or bad. Could you quickly look at the spec and advise? Many thanks

WRX STI Type UK PPP 2003 model

15,200 miles
one owner since new
cat 1 alarm
tracker
air con
Full service history
remaining warranty
18 inch prodrive 0z titanium alloys
new tyres
front fogs
factory lowered 20mm?
always garaged
pristine condition
taxed

£17,500?

Is that a reasonable price?

Many thanks for any comments

Cheers

Sounds a fair price to me.
The OZ alloys are £1K alone, without tyres.
Factory lowered by 20mm? Sound like the Prodrive spring kit. Should be 25mm though.

Sounds a good price for the age, mileage, and extra's

Many thanks for your comments. I will be interested to see if the car lives up to the promises of the adverts and the owner. Hope so!

Cheers

Cracking price.
I traded in an 02 STI for an 05 STI for 1K more than that!

Sounds like a very good price to me - I paid just under £18,000 for my 53 reg, completely standard STI Type UK (no PPP, 18" alloys or lowering) with very similar mileage a couple of months ago, but that was from a Subaru dealer.

One bit of advice is to check that you don't have any problems with the PPP from an insurance perspective before buying...

Thanks guys,

Part of me thought the price sounded a little "too good" though I don't have that much experience in the Scooby market.

I will make sure that the prospective buyer does a check with the insurance on a PPP car.

How can I be sure it has the PPP kit? An exhaust is my first guess. Is there any other tell tale sign?

Many thanks for all the advice.

It should have a certificate from Subaru saying it has been fitted, in with the handbook.

Steven,

They do exist.... I bought a 2nd hand very late 02 Scoob (latest shape) with PPP, Prodrive Wheels and Prodrive Springs for £17300 in March this year. Car was totally mint with same kind of mileage on.

Good luck

Regards,
Shaun.

Thumbs up

Shaun,

Thanks, I am now inspired with the confidence that this car may actually be as good as it states in the advert.

Cheers and just FYI I will report back a couple of lines on the car some time later tonight.

Cheers

Jerry

Im sure I seen an 04 sti ppp in the for sale section for 17500.
The 04 has a slightly different body kit and a square boot lock
usually they are pretty well looked after from a club or community

Thanks for all your help guys.

We went and visited the car last night. Everything was in order. A couple of minor paint scratches otherwise a very very nice condition motor car. Doesn't look like its been scrimped on in the slightest.

We walked away having struck a deal at £17,250.

An awful lot of car for the price and both seller and purchaser happy.

one question. Why would the rear shocks be red instead of the standard ones? Something to do with a clicky/noisey rear shock that subaru wouldn't admit to? Does that make sense?

Cheers!

The rear shock's on a 2003 sti are red,the car has a common problem with the rear shocks and should be replaced under warranty, mine were replaced by a main dealer with no complaints,do a search on scoobynet, you will find more imfo about the rear shocks

i paid £16000 for my 2003 sti ppp,but the mileage was 40k when i bought it

Mines cheaper than that at 16900 and probably has a better spec given that all parts are genuine Prodrive or STI. Mines in the For sale section general section

The rear shock's on mine are red - does this mean that mine have been replaced or not? Thanks
