It makes me laugh the people that buy such cars as impreza's, pay the ownership costs but never drive the bloody things.
Why pay for expensive motoring and drive low miles every year

I thought I had low mliles on my wagon when I bought it!! It had 69000 miles now has 70000 miles, however, was first registered in 1997!! And I dont have to pay for a cambelt change!! I agree, why pay so much and hardly drive it?

I would personally steer clear of super low miles - There was one in the trader lately which said it had low 20's and was a 1998 or 99. Basically the advert said it was a second car and it was a toy - I can imagine the low 20K miles were thrashed completely.

Also if it is a toy and a second car it has probably been on the track a few times. One with 40K on would probably be someones every day run about and I know that I dont actually get that much opurtunity to give it some when tootling to work in the traffic.

Exactly, Ive put 7k on mine since september and I don't feel the need to thrash it everywhere. If it was just a toy I think I probably would.

The classic I sold last year was bought with 23k and sold it 6 months later with 45. Wasn't as clean at the one before that I bought with 35k but the tyres, brakes etc were all original on a 99 car!

Mine Is a 1998 Terzo - 25700 on the clock with FSSH and all the paperwork. Bought it 3 months ago with 23000 on it. The mileage was the main reason I got it as you, understandably given the age, dont tend to see the classics come up with such low miles.

I use mine as an everyday car, it`s a UK99 Mica Blue Classic done 39,000 miles!!! Had a new short motor about 1000 miles ago due to a piston shearing... Subaru suspected it was a manufacturing fault and covered the cost because of the low milage and the fact it has full Subaru service history. I`ve got to give it to Subaru for their excellent customer support and service . I now have a 3 year warranty on my engine ...

Not necessarily. Mine was bought by a gentleman who used it as an everyday car for the first year, but then got a fiancee and a company car. It was then only really rolled out on weekends. You still have to check out the owners to make sure they know how to look after it and that it has had the servicing done: intervals are set at miles OR time, afteral.

Mine still feels like a new car in many ways...even has the smell.
