I have just bought a MY2000 UK Classic, totally standard, Mica Blue with 33,000 miles on the clock and 2 owners.

I paid £9200, which I think is a bit over book but its a minter and it was round the corner from my house. Id say aim for the £8800 - £9000 mark. If its as geniune as it sounds then hold out for as long as you can.

Look at the prices in the Trader ............ thats going to be more accurate than any guess on here.

You MUST have a price in mind ...... just put it up in the For Sale at the price you want - it's simple really!!

thanksfor you replies

i always thought places like dealers, autotrader and parkers were a load of b*llocks, and that a lot of the prices in there are pure fantasy. (overpriced)

thats why its interesting to hear what real buyers like simon paid
Alos id like to hear from real sellers as well

I honestly have no idea of price as I dont follow the second hand market

Most people go by Parkers Guide. I bought a MY00 last August 2004, with PPP fitted at 50, 000 miles, mica blue. It isnt mint cause it has been driven daily, so stone chips, but full service history, I would say it is very good condition. I paid £7500 for it which was £300 - £400 below book then for a minter, which mine isnt! Just giving you an idea, at the end of the day people will pay what they feel is appropriate, good luck.

I'm paying 9000 for MY00 with PPP. 28,100miles. FSH. From Subaru with Subaru Approved Used warranty. Looks like a minter to me. I'm happy.

Pre-delivery service into the price was said to be fairly big, i.e. all oils, new pads and new rear discs.

Mine was private sale, check Parkers Guide, most people check that before even phoning up about a car as a price guide. Lets face it in 3 years of ownership Subaru halfs in resale value, like most cars.

I've never driven standard, I can only compare with 200SX Nissan.

60 to 100 was nice. Squirted past 4 cars on a 400yard dual carriage way on the 1/2hour test drive. Made me smile.

I wouldn't have tried this in the Nissan!

Yeh, they start to run out of puff above the ton, which is good thing really. Will get up to 120 mph with no hestitations. You wont regret buying it anyway, apart from the hole in pocket from fuel costs and tyres. Enjoy

If its White or MicaPink then I can understand .....

Mileage a tad high is it?

Sounds too cheap for my liking - must be a reason, let us know!

There is no catch!! It has done 117K carefully driven miles which obviously affects the price. It is however a completely unmodified, very clean example with a full Subaru service history, 4 very good Eagle F1’s and very effective Air Conditioning. If anyone wants a genuine bargain, PM me your details.

117k

Holy fooooook!!

Mind you, I have no fear of starship mileages .......................... but EVERYONE else seems to!!

Trouble is, I guess you can get a 50,000miler for £1000 more (which isn't that much extra) ........... yours could be the better example - but the punters want low miles and low owners!

People are wrong to assume mileage means problems on the later cars. All the engine problems were sorted on the MY00 cars and they go on forever if looked after. My car drives like new, I just set the trip counter display and enjoy the drive.
