Question Question for Boost pressure ?

What is the correct Boost pressure for a MY05 STI PPP in PSI and Bar ?

All these gauges and they have different ranges and some with "-" as well, do I need "-" too ?

If you get the official subaru one its in mPa's (pascals?) I think - very confusing.

Anyway I think the STI05+PPP should be 1.2 bar (or was it 1.3? hmm - no sure its 1.2)

Not sure, but according to my PSI 3 data monitor my WR1 (unmodded) has a recorded peak boost of 1.53 Bar so I guess that 1.3-1.4 is about right

Oh and lower limit about -0.8 (I think) so yes you do need the minus sign.

seems quite a big difference for about 12 BHP, but at least I am getting closer figures. So at this rate a gauge that goes to 2 Bar is sufficient, I would still like to know what that is in PSI though as quite a few gauges are in PSI

Aprox. 14.5psi to 1 bar or 100,000 pascals according to http://www.onlineconversion.com/

Incidently to my Blitz gauge my 05 wrx std made ~1.1 bar peak. Now it's been mapped it's 1.4 bar peak.

now we are getting closer.......so MY05 STI PPP - What is the boost pressure either in PSI or Bar or Pascals as we have the figure to convert bot not the figure to work it out from.

pretty much all standard scoobies run between 0.8 and 1.3 bar so a 1.5 bar (22psi) gauge will be fine, but a 2bar better.

the -ve is vacuum from the engine sucking in air when the turbo isn't blowing.

Cheers. I ordered a -30 to +30 PSI Boost gauge with a Black face to match the other dials an a dash mounted Pod.

I still don't know what PSI my car (MY05 STI PPP) should show on full boost though............anyone care to answer for sure ? or who can I call to find out ?

It's not an exact figure. Boost is held at between 1.3 & 1.4 bar in the midrange but it is possible to see slightly higher than that for very breif periods.

Would that be intentional (sp?) overboost..? If so dose this apply to all MY scoobs..?

My 02 STI PPP peaks at about 1.3-1.4 bar in the midrange then holds about 1 bar.
