Default Something burning from bottom of engine bay

Just come back from giving my 99MY a good thrashing....

Left the egine running to cool off a little after the run before switching off.

Once switched off I noticed some smoke from something burning (?) which was coming from the front right handside of the engine, under neath it though.

Tried to look under the car, but, of course, the front undertray is hiding everything quite nicely from view.

Doesnt smell like burnt oil or plastic mind you, so not really sure whats under there that can burn !

Any suggestions would be much appreciated !

Thanks for the comments.

I did take another slower drive later in the day and no sign of anything burning.

Ill take the undertray off later this week and see whats going on!

Cheers

Took my car for a proper check over today....

Turns out it was leaking oil from the cam cover, basically because at its last service by a subaru main dealer 2 weeks ago it was overfilled with oil by at least 2 litres !!!

It was way beyond the maximum fill level, literally 5 times the distance between min level and max level

Oil and filter changed now, gasket no longer leaking. Job done
