Unhappy Its been written off :(

Had an accident on Wednesday afternoon over here in germany, I was aproaching a T junction along the top of the T going right to left as you look at it "T". on the top of the T there was a parked car, mine being right hand drive i had to move my car slightly to the left of the parked car to gain a view up the road, making sure it was clear to pass. (mine being right hand drive in germany a lil tricky).
Anyway observed a car aproaching at speed, it was a 30 km zone very slow. The car was speeding toward me. I was still at a stand still parked rear and slightly left of parked car.
The speeding car was travelling left to right ie opposite direction of travel to me.

She didnt see me and hit my left front wheel which was at full lock to go round the parked car. Taking out the wing scuffing the door and pushing the wheel up into the passenger footwell. Ripping all and in sundry from the suspension, steering and everything else that lives jut inside the wing.

Her car came to rest behind mine to the left pointed toward my rear left door, now sitting as tho she was exiting the T junction.

Air bags deployed (stinky or what) and the 3 point harnesses did their job.

Checked on my dad, he was in better state than me and he was in the side that was hit lol.

Then got out to check on her

No seat belt on and claret all over her face still holding the wheel.

Anyway i did all the stuff your supposed to, check for injurys remove casualty from danger area (risk of fire) and controlled traffic untill emergency services arrived.

Then sat down and took it all in.

German police delt with it very quickly asked me for details and a couple of questions.

She was taken away in an ambulance for minor injuries and shock.

My dad got a lift by the Police to the airport 1.5ks away .

I sat there for 8 hours untill the recovery arrived, lol.

Anyway they reckon 22,000€ to repair its an 01 wrx so no chance of that

The wing has had it, inner ok but the floor pan is bent where my wheel folded into it. This in turn pushed the bottom of the B pillar slightly rearward, all resulting in her being written off.

So anyone selling a 01 STI ? or want spares for a 01 WRX possibly 2 weekend tickets for JAE up for grabs.

and hers was a polo!!

Yours sadly Aston.

This was her in her better days

Like I said earlier Aston, don't give up with the insurance, keep annoying them and don't take their first offer. You HAVE to keep pestering them and they will come to a satisfactory compromise that way

Hi Aston

OMG What a bummer. Thought I'd meet up and say hello at the Ring later this year

I hope you get a satisfactory outcome.

F
PS Did you ever go to a Caldcote meet?
