Question PPP how long does it take ?

Some garage told me that if they are going to install the PPP for me, it takes 2 days, as they have to "teach the car" the new software. Is this true ? can anybody confirm me ?
I thougyt it is just about a 2 hour installation work and then go.

Thanks for your answers. That eliminates it I guess. I'd just like to know one more thing: After installing the PPP parts(ECU, exhaust bits, Y pipe) is there anything to be done or is it ready to go ? maybe somebody who installed himself could tell me ?

it depends on the model how long it takes... the new MY01 onwards is a lot less work than pre 01 cars

It took my dealer 3 days. Day 1, Send the ECU to Prodrive. Day 2, Prodrive update ECU. Day 3, Prodrive send the ECU back to Dealer. Dealer then installs ECU, puts on new Exhaust. Dealer then ignore's everything you asked them to look at (wax on alloys & wiper not sweeping away all the water). They then cover your 4 weeks old STi Type UK mats in oil & dirt, then try to cover it up with apaper cover and hope you don't notice ???????????

Damn ?! Now that is sh*t. I'm located in Holland, and the quality of service is way lower than in the UK or many other EU countries, and to avoid your experience I really don't like the idea of leaving the car for 2 days at some garage....

BTW. I thought you'd get a new ECU ?

I was told by the dealer that the ECU is sent by courier overnight, and the updated/new unit is sent back with the same courier, and depending what time it arrives back, will be fitted that day or next day.

Either way it is correct that it is a 3 day process, as the mechanics will then want to rag the **** off your car on the third day!
