Default Faith in Mankind Restored !

I took my Father out Thursday evening , and used his disabled parking permit (that will save you £2 parking son) checked the parking as we all do safe well lit etc, came back to the car and someone has driven into the rear end totalling it ,glass plastic wheel arch into tyre etc , a wreck , I stood there almost in tears ( and this takes alot I'm 6ft ,16 stone shaved head wimpring speechless I sat in the car lit a smoke and noticed a piece of paper under the wipers , the nice elderly gentleman had left not only his name address and Tel. he had also spent over an hour knocking on doors , I couldn't and still can't believe my luck , I've since spoke to him ,the cars been collected and now instead of my Scoob I've got a Ford Fusta for 3 weeks, I'm fully comp so's he , insurance dealing with it all ,and I still saved the £2 in parking as my old man gleefully stated ! £250 excess though !
Now be honest, how many would of you would have done the same and left details and gone to all that trouble , I asked this question at work on Friday and 5 out of 10 said they would have driven away !!!!!!!!!

I smacked a mirror of a merc the other week and i put my number under his wiper, he phoned me up and couldnt believe i had done that, then said how much the garage had said it was to repair

But i thought if it had happend to me, i'd hope someone would do the same.

Went out to my car yesterday and someone had hit my back bumper and driven off

You may need to pay that originally but you can then claim it back off the other guys insurance seeing as it was a 'no fault' accident!!

Good luck

Disgusting but true - I'd bet that the actual figure would be even higher

You don't have to pay the Excess ....... his Ins. Co. will pay that (probably straight to your Ins.Co.)

I wonder how many of us would have driven off?? You were lucky he was elderly - we have a higher level of honesty I would guess? From days gone by?

The Tories taught us the 'Grab It and Run Mentality' ................

Neighbour twatted the wifes Cooper S yesterday morning. About £1000 worth of damage according to the garage. Just drove away without saying a word, despite her TT coming off worse.

When challenged, it took me pointing out the CCTV cameras on the front of my house (which would have recorded it) before he would admit to it being his missus.

Not everyone is as honest

agreed, and I did when I was about 21. Smacked into a parked car luckily it was an old Granada and they got the bumper from a scrapper
