Talking Chrome Inlet manifold is it ok?

Hi,

Does chrome plating work ok on the inlet maifold? Is there any issues with durability?

Also does anyone know anyone in the nottingham ish area that does it?

You can't "plate" Ali. You can however polish it

Have heard the manifold isnt as good at dsiplacing heat when its smooth/polished. Suppose there is some truth in that but wether or not it will make much noticable difference to the performance i cannot answer.

Cool

Is this called 'bling'?
Assuming it is for a show car and not performance related, just have it done, will cost a lot though.
Any good plating shop will dress/polish the alloy manifold, but best get it clear anodised to prevent the instant corrosion that takes place with alloy.

IMHO a waste of good time and $$$, but I used to build/drive American style Street Rods, so I can understand to a degree where you are going.(but on an Impreza in the UK?)

Graham.

Not particularly bling either IMO, more garish.

It goes alright

Glad you all really LOVE my engine bay LOL And it goes pretty good

Well what about the one we just got rid of:

Is that garish too???

I've got to agree about the intercooler though. I'm a bit fed up with it now & I know it's time for a FMIC transplant before a re-map

Mmm BHP....last time I checked it was around 312BHP (it's a UK) but since then i've changed the block for an STI4 & i've got everything needed to push it over the 350BHP mark when I get the time
