Thumbs up Its a Mini revalation! and VERY fast!

Ok on the way home from the WYIOC meet late last night i had a bit of an interesting tangle... looked in the RVM heading up the dual-ie about 60 ish... sees a small car... closing in quite fast... thought ok i'll give it a chance and stay at 60 in to boutdyround... as expected left it... more skill than anything else i presume any how after a good loud pedal moment i eased off to find this thing closing rather quickly... thought ok lets go large (learnt these terms from the 13 year old kid ) and to my HUGE supprise i could see this Mini actually keeping with me, ok backed off after the large noughty 1 but hey, it stayed with me upto silly... and its a F$%%in mini... cool! had to have a ganders so pulled him over and took a few pics!

Turns out to have a Yam R1 lump pushing 200 GGGGG's Nice... bet its propper scary to drive...

That was on the cover of last months Mini World magazine, IIRC it doesn't have a bike engine in it?

Followed on Mini One Cooper S yersterday in the STI. On a drag strip the STI would post a quicker time but only be few tenths. In the real world there was no-way I was going to get past. Traction off a roundabout up to legal speeds I might of got along side but seriously quick once you reached the illegal speeds.

Got the magazine in front of me. Its a Honda I-V-tec from a Type R, revs to 9000, 220bhp, 6-speed box with LSD, MGF front sub frame and brakes, Astra rear brakes. Cost him about £20k apparently.

I always remember watching some classic race on eurosport and the commentator said they were gonna follow the mini as a V8 Mustang was behind and looking like it was gonna overtake. After a few laps and the Mustang had not gained on the mini the commenatator conceded maybe it wasn't gonna overtake. PMSL!

My first car was a mini cooper and that was fun! Longest car I have had to date! Having a VTEC in the car would be amazing! I am suprised he didn't go past you dazza as they don't weigh anything to the point of being dangerous.

Fast Minis - I love them!

They're just go-karts with roofs and stereos. This thread has bought back some great memories of when I used to race anything with an 'i' at the end of it's model name.

PJ motorsport is only a few streets away from me, Just think how I feel when every day I see a Cossy they decide to stick to my back bumper. Also PJ the owner has a nice Nismo Skyline 400R.

I had built the Z Cars mini with twin Yamaha R1 engines (360bhp) and trust me a stereo would have been a waste of money as you couldn't hear each other scream when moving.
