Default TSL Chargecooler kit? ANYONE ahd it?

I really want to get this kit.

Ive seen it on their site, and ive seen it being fitted to a car.

Anyone actually had it done? Whats the difference really like to drive?

Any one running it? Would be great to hear your views:

I could be wrong, but it looks like the Pace kit. If so, I would suggest finding out how well it workks, before buying it.

IIRC, Scooby Clinic tested one, may be worth asking them how it worked.

Mark.

Hi Guys

Not for me to advertise here, I can say that this kit has nothing to do with the pace one though.

Those guys who have already had this fitted please feel free to let everyone know what you think of it...

That looks neat Would be interested to hear what people have to say about it. Is there any reason why it cannot be made to fit a Classic?

Richard.

Hoppy

will happen for the 99my > cars later this year. There is more difficulty when thinking about I/C orientation (early models) etc...

The one thing that makes me want to get it is no pissing about cutting the front bumper for a front mounted intercooler jobbie.

Fitting appears to be quick and easy and looks pretty cool to.

The all important thing is those Dyno figures. I want to see one with out it and one with it. That would be spot on.

Neither does retaining a tmic ! Good enough for 500+ bhp

Andy

Just to clarify, I mean an air/air intercooler, not that overpriced shiney thing above !

Is it still the case that the only FMIC that doesn't require cutting of the bumper or inner wings, and doesn't lose the air con, is the Pace kit? And that one doesn't work so well?

This charge cooler looks very nice, and if it works, and if it was half the price...

O.k Peeps.

I dont want this to be rude, but before posting can people make sure their comments are relevant to the topic.

I say this because i gave Mark @ Lateral Performance a ring and the kit that some of you have suggested are only currently available for the classic STi, and not my STi8. So at the moment we havnt found an alternative to this charge cooler kit.

HOWEVER After having a huge 45mins chat with Mark luckily i found him a very easy chap to talk to, a great contact to have gained and a bloody knowledgeable guy about scoobies! So something did come from that recommendation Hopefully he is going to be helping out a lot more in the future with ideas and engine modifications.

So lets open this question up in a new thread --> "How to get 400bhp from an STi8 engine"

The std Sti8 intercooler will cope with 400bhp no problem.

Put some some serious boost through an Sti 7 on intercooler and they have a problem holding together. The end cans are crimped onto the core over a gasket material and have been known to open up at boost pressures as low as 1.5 bar
