Angry What is it with tw*ts with keys?

Someone kindly redecorated my drivers side door with the use of their keys last night.
What is it with some people? Jealousy, kids or just a lack of total respect?
At the end of the day, at a cost it can be repaired, but how frustrating and annoying is this?
I would love to catch someone doing this to any car.

nobody should f**k with a mans automobile. or something similar.

Feel for you, its sad to say that its the general mood of the country at the moment that you're not allowed to own anything nice without the jealous types wanting to ruin it for you.

Cheers Dave.
Just got a quote over the phone and without them looking at it they estimate between £150 - £200.
I suppose the whole door will need to be resprayed to blend in the colour etc.

Gutted mate. That's a nice looking Saxo too.

Is yours repaired now?
Any problems with the paintwork matching the rest of the car?

Very sorry to hear that mate. You're the second one who has reported a Keying on here today. Makes me wanna puke quite frankly.

I hope it won't cost you too much too rectify and that something equally unpleasant happens to the culprit!

It's repaired now mate. £1600 for the repspray and had it delocked at the same time. No problem matching paint as every panel was keyed so the lot got done. B!tch who did it got off too! Her word against one witness wasn't enough apparently.

That is pretty sickening.

Problem with a panel being keyed is that you've got a very pronounced change in surface depth across the panel, so it either has to all be taken to the same level, or else the scratches need to be filled in and then sprayed.

Was this someone you knew, or a complete stranger?
Any reason why she did it?

That's even worse as it's someone you work with and know, and you'd expect them to own up.

No mate. She just denied doing it even thought she was seen and chased! The CPS dropped the case cos it was her word against one witness. Never found out her motives cos she never admitted doing it.

rest of pics of damage

That's harsh, and you had it up for sale as well.

I'd love to catch them and stick their head right behind my exhaust as it flames

Tesrrible state of affairs.

My 300ZX got keyed a few years back before my scooby days.

I always thought id love to catch them at it but the sickening thing is if you catch someone wrecking your car or breaking into it and you give them a good hiding YOU ARE THE ONE WHO GETS IN TROUBLE!!!!!

Bonkers!

Isn't a case of their word against yours? Something like "Sorry officer, I chased the prat after he damaged my car, and he never saw the brickwall he ended up running into, and for some reason he proceeded to keep banging his head against the wall in annoyance"?

It is digusting what some people do.

Mindless morons that I think should be rounded up with the thiefs muggers etc and kept in a camp for science experiments.

Also include the muppets who swing their car doors like a fridge!

A little bit harsh. I take great care when opening my doors. As for the key issue. There is no point trying to understand these kind of people......they probably couldn't even explain it to you if you asked them. Jealousy just eats up some people.

When I was younger and going to Uni, I used to push trolleys around asda car park (great exercise and freash air) but the amount of damage i saw done to cars is enough to give me the shivers every time I go shopping and park up.

Worst one I ever saw was this granny, trying to take a shortcut between two cars and not going round the long way. Well made it through the first two cars but the next row was a little slimmer.

She drives the trolley up the sides of both car doors till the gap got narrow enough to embed them into the doors (she must have had some arm's on her!) then started to shake the trolley side to side denting the doors even more.

At this point I'm running towards her shouting "What are you doing!!" Which on reflection was a bad decision as I'm the one that got diciplined at work for shouting at a customer!

Another time I heard a crash and some smack rat started running away from a car with the alarm blazing, so... I takes chase, after following him along a school field he realsies he can't really keep up with the fittness of someone that pushing a ton of steel around a carpark for 5 hours a night and pulls the hammer he used to break the window out on me!

Here goes my image but I said, "**** that keep the tax disc ******** we've got you on camera, and let's him leg it" (the store security was a few hundred yards behind me and they get paid for that kinda thing)

i think its a jealousy thing, some one kicked in my door and rear quarter, then nicked my fog light covers. that was about a year ago.

then last week, in asda car park some one decided to park their trolley in the other rear quarter, customer services were useless, said that the area was not covered by their cameras, 4 cars down from the entrance!!!

costing a fortune to keep it looking right, but worth it when i get in and start it up.

Just got back from getting a quote from Bodyworks in Luton. £200 to spray the whole door.
Does anyone else know where in Luton I can get a quote from?

Im afraid it is a combination of both, jealousy and a huge lack of repect for people, property and themselfs! Its a gradual decline of respect for anything unfortunatly. I feel for ya mate, if it happend to me i'd end up murdering someone especially if i got hold of them!

I was sitting in my works van in a Tesco's car park and the women parked next door came back with her shopping and just opened the door into the side with a big bang and left the door jammed there whilst she loaded in the shopping. she did look guilty when she found out that i was sitting in the van eating a sandwich but not because she dented the vehicle but because she did it with me in the vehicle

I do feel that car parks have a share of the responsablity as the bays are to small for most women to park and not trash the vehicle next to them. unless you use parent and child bays but then the supermarkets etc get upset? men seem to take more care maybe as they appreciate that the car is some bodies pride and joy. the answer if you can is to park away from very body else.

But if you made the bays wider, those women would struggle to park straight, or to park centrally between the lines! So you'd gain nothing For some reason, so many need to use your car to line up on - and then bash your doors with theirs because they're too close, too careless, and too disrespectful!

I don't mind walking, so when I go shopping I park the furthest away and if it's empty enough, in 2 spaces or an end space.

Scoobynutter, Thanks for the number. Where abouts are they located in Luton?
