Jacking Up The Front
I see my SERIOUS question asking if its safe to jack the rear of an Impreza under the Diff was moved to the Muppets.
Fair enough, I 'think' its OK to jack it there - I have a rear tyre with a massive screw sticking out of it!! I have now ground the head off so it won't make a noise. I will be replacing both rear tyres this afternoon hopefully!
Now, I need to replace the front Pads and Discs very soon - can the car also be lifted on the front Diff??
This is a SERIOUS question!!

Let this be a lesson to you!I answered your original rear jacking point question seriously at first but then thought twice about it being a wind up having re-read your post
. Didn't think anyone would be stupid enough to drive around with a screw in their tyre, even with the head cut off. You have now clarified the first post by stating that you are going to get them replaced. It may not have wound up in muppets if you had said that originally

Matt P ..... you really are an **** dick!!
And as for Graz ..... 'Let this be a lesson to you??'
you cheeky kiddie!!
Anyway, I have brand NEW tyres on the rear now - they just whacked a jack under the Diff and up she went! I guess they know???
I was going to take them off myself and hand them in, but thought WTF - the tyres aren't any cheaper, let them do it!
It was a 50mm Long TORX Bolt - about an M6 - so, the head I angle ground off this morning was 12mm Diameter!

Just waiting for someone to post that its the EXACT same bolt that holds the MAF Sensor on!!!

Joking aside though, there is a metallic tinkling from the clutch area - not a Flywheel Bolt is it

Thanks very much Vege!! I was as happy as a pig in **** - then you say that!

My comment was meant as a joke but also seriously in that Torx bolts are very car related and I would have abit of a look round.
Others might be able to say if that size Torx is on Scooby.
Maf bolts are security Torx head.
I hate Torx heads btw.

Thats better, thanks Ali
Is that the Oil Filter I see? Looks easy to get to and mounted vertically (so, the new one can be filled prior to assembley)
It had a washer under the TORX head, any help?? .......... fooking worried now, AND it was in the rear tyre (not as if I drove over it with front wheels first!)
Warranty has 2 weeks left ..................... crapping myself!!
Whats going to go BANG the day after expiry??

Don't forget to let us know how much misery it causes you should the 'worst' happen. Can't wait, personally.
Could I advise you to see your doctor??
Tell him you are wishing disaster upon some fictious character from the Internet ..... book yourself into the Loony-Bin, cos' thats where he will send you!!

You think of me non-stop don't you??

Freaky

Classic shape Impreza, use the rear diff to jack the rear and use the plate behind the plastic undertray on the front of the car. It's black and secured with 4 bolts. Can't be missed and shown in the first picture in Ali's picture.
Stick some axle stands rather than relying solely on the jack.

.....to state the obvious - axle stands go under the jacking points

(guess who installed the full version of acrobat over the weekend
