Hi All,

Just bought my first Impreza, a late 1994 WRX with the Z4 ECU, it has 56000 miles on the clock... I'm really happy with it but the gearshift feels quite sloppy!!

Not sure if it's the box, synchromeshes or the linkage, the gears feel good and there's no whining, it's just a bit of a bitch getting into certain gears sometimes... When in neutral and moving the stick from side to side you can feel the H fingers...???

Any ideas or comments would be really appreciated, the car is awesome appart from the above... should have bought one of these a long time ago!!!

Anybody with an early WRX want to chip in and say how their box feels...? No sexual inuendo's please ;-)

If the gear shift feels loose between 2 nd and 3rd ie across the gate it maybe the spring is missing on the bottom of the gear linkage on the gearbox end
