driving the car today, blower on window setting and got this huge whiff of pure petrol. This happened just as the car was warming up, once it was warmed, the smell went. Any idea's what it could've been? Never really noticed this before, but with today's weather, window's were steaming up, so we had to use heater while car was cold. ( no other car's infront either!)

 

There have been other threads; one the other day - do a search for a thread I started about four months ago called 'petrol smell in car sometimes'. My problem is like yours -it only occurs during the engine warm-up phase in colder damp weather.

Why?

Or rather, why not all the time?
