Default Warranty vs Dump Valve

Looking to put an aftermarket air filter, exhaust and dump valve (yes I know dump valve) on 03 STI uk.

Does this affect the warranty?

yes, they all do.

dump valve is pointless. only worth changikng if yours is leaking, all about noise really.

exhaust and air filter will destroy your warranty unless they are part of the ppp, assuming you are talking about an IM warranty.

So no cars with warranties have got aftermarket exhausts? That can't be right.

Does Prodrive exhaust get good ratings. Last one I had on a 95 wrx was scoobysport and got pretty loud after a few years,

Jerry,

What people actually do and what they declare upon warranty time they have done is totally different.

The official stance is that anything not Subaru authorised etc, may affect a warranty claim.

Of course, what you wish to do is entirely up to you.

Regards,
Shaun.

Jerry, you'll probably find it varies between dealers. Some would consider an aftermarket backbox ok as they don't regard it as a drivetrain modification. Others say no non-prodrive mods whatsoever. AFAIK Air filter and DV mods are pretty pointless anyway. The std recirculating DV is very good and you'd gain very little from changing the air filter.

As stated above, some dealers will accept a back-box if all the cats are still in place, but some won't....best to check with your dealer.

From what I have heard, dump valves are a no-no with regards to the warranty.

Thanks guys. So backbox and PPP are the only ways to go by the sound of it, but I'll check with local dealer, Cheam Motors, and see what they might cover,

What about exterior mods like bigger wheels and added spoilers, do these affect your warranty. Was thinking about this the other day but thought i would hijack someone elses thread, sorry.

Again, you're probably ok with these as they're not drivetrain mods. However, check with the dealer first! Also, don't forget to inform the insurance company, as they might well be bothered: increased risk of theft etc...etc...
