ive just checked my car and one of the battery earthing point isnt connected one goes to the battery to the chasis and the other one goes to somwhere on the engine, can anyone tel me where the oe earthing point is? i have a my99 uk turbo

 

Look under the intercooler, there should be a metal tab/bracket sticking up from the join where the starter motor is fixed to the engine block - it goes on there.

If it's not there, maybe someone changed the starter motor and left it off?

 

or gearbox/clutch as you have to remove it for access
