afternoon. Iv searched through many threads and lots of usefull info! but usually when i tackle a job i find out half way through that i dont have items that are needed or somethig always goes **** up! (well not always, but I dont want it to happen this time)

so what exactly am i going to need to get this on the car? The current one is slanty, so I know it requires a bit of work to fit properly!

ill need to cover the dump valve hole on the i/c so ill need something to do that with for a start. any tips otehr than welding?

Will i need any other samco hosing or anything? I have the Y piece on the sti i/c and also all my current piping. I want to retain my original dump valve and location. Will I need a new bit of samco with a little bit of pipe coming off it? (iv seen this somewhere but cant find it now)

anything else i might need, as im heading to B&Q and Halfords after work in half hour!

Yes you will need to get another piece to fit your'e dump valve. When I did this conversion I had a prodrive silion Y pipe which I cut and added an alloy T piece inorder to fit the dump valve.

You will also need to get some strong metal strips to make brackets for the intercooler as the slanty ones won't work( I think one needs to be removed completely)

To blank off the dump valve hole I used another piece of metal strip cut to size then I used two of the screws from the removed intercooler bracket to bolt it in place and sealed it with some silicon sealer. Worked a treat.

I will see if I can find some pics for you which may help.

Oh and by the way you may need to flatten the lip on the bulkhead, as I gets a bit tight back there were the Y pipe comes from the intercooler.

I can blank the hole off and get some brackets made up no problemo, my old man should be able to do that no probs. should be ok flattening a bit of bulkhead too i think.

Seems i might have to cut away at part of the throttle body too so that this I/C can slide on that little bit further.

My only concern really is the dump valve as this Y piece is metal so cant be cut into. unless I can use my original Y piece maybe?

Yes. Thats how I did mine. Rally Design usually have them in stock for £40 ish.

You will also have to trim about 10-15mm from the IC outlet.

Its a great mod, watch out for overboost

 

If you cut & mod the tb correctly you won't need to reduce the length of the samco tb to tmic hose.

Plus if you have the alloy Y piece from the tmic, then the samco turbo to tmic hose will need to have its length reduced. The added bonus with that hose is that you can use your original dv.

If you search through Flat4's project thread, you should see a good picture of the throttle body mod. Note also where the tb has been cut down the side to help the hose slide further on. Plus the mod of the dv connection point on the tmic (even though its a later ic) but similar design of the dv connection & v5/v6.

Ps I did not bash any part of my bulkhead to help clearances.

im just about to order that samco as iv posted above, but im unsure how it fits exactly??

lookig at 911's thread he has put this pic up below, and only uses a small bit of samco. is my car different due to it being a MY95??

is that bit of samco definately required above? cos im about to order it

If you are going to keep your standard dv & setup then get the samco kit in your 2nd picture. (the picture with the 2 blue samco hoses only).

If you cut the throttle body just like Flat4's picture then you wont need to cut the new samco hose at all.

The 2nd samco hose (S shaped type with small diameter hose joined to it) has to be shorten slighty.
