Question Key Shaped Warning Light on Dash 05 STI

Hi everyone.

Been reading these forums for quite a while, recently bought an 05 STI !
Wow, still running in, but feels superb on the road.

For my first post i have a possibly daft question, I noticed tonight when i turned the engine off that i have a light flashing under the dials shaped like a key.

This is something to do with the immobilizer, but is it normal that it flashes all the time? I just checked the car again and a couple of hours later and it is still flashing.

Also I started and stopped the engine, still the same.

I never noticed it before but it could be normal i suppose.

I tried a search but could not find anything.

Cheers in advance for ant advice on this one.

no not run in yet only 230 miles hehe so at least another few tank fulls of optimax and some 770 miles to go.... been to 5k once or twice though, guessing it wont do any harm on the odd occasion, not like its being red lined and done on a regular basis. Makes ya grin when that turbo kicks in
