I have now got all the parts to take my car to the Prodrive Performance Pack.
I have just ordered the Samco hoses for my pre Oct 2000 UK Impreza, from Rally Design. Cost £70 inc postage. You need to order TSC143 for those interested.

What I need to establish now is: How easy are these to fit? Are there instructions anywhere on how to do this? How long is it likely to take? Any tricks/things to be careful of?

dead easy about 20 mins 30 max

 

if it is the turbo hoses then its a dodle, no worries, 20 minutes as said above.
with the car cold you can simply undo the original hoses and offer up the new shiney ones (I had to trim the ends of a few of mine). Make sure the jubilees are tight (or even better, replace them with something like Mikalor clamps).
if its the coolant hose kit then you need to drain all the coolant out first, obviously.

 

Thanks people. The kit consists of 3 pipes going to the intercooler. I would not have a clue how to drain or refil the intercooler. Any ideas?

the intercooler is full of air.
to drain it simply disconnect the hoses and ..


theres no draining involved

Agree with all the other advice, getting the old plastic hoses off is possibly the hardest part of the job, especially the Y shape one.

One word of advice, if you use jubilee clips, be careful you don't over tighten them as the perferations can bite/cut into the hoses - not what you want, leaky new samcos............
