Sti VI Wagon ?

Default Sti VI Wagon ?

Did they actually make one of these ?

Seen loads of Sti IV and Sti V wagons, and even a very occassional Sti 7 (bug eye) wagon, but can't seem to recall ever having seen anything posted about Sti VI wagons. Have also seen Sti VI 4 doors.

So my question is, did Subaru make an Sti VI wagon and did many make it to the UK ?

mines a sti 5 with a sti 6 engine, does that count

btw harvey, is that the wagon outputting rediculous amounts of BHP.

im sure someone showed me this car before

I'm the proud owner of a Sti version 6 wagon, in very rare cashmere yellow. Probably the only one in the country.

I love it to bits and will never sell it!!

STi ver 6 Wagon ltd. 585 bhp and 464-499 ft lbs torque.
WRX M/Y 95/96 Wagon. Budget project = 400 plus BHP.
Both in silver to cause confusion.
New engine collected from Roger Clark Motorsport last Thursday. Still 2.0 litre but with additional mods over the previous engine. Intended as a daily driver with a target over 600 bhp and 500 ft/lbs when fully sorted which will take some months.

hi Harvey, I have a sti version 5 wagon. What are the predominate differences between the version 5 and 6 o and btw i have a version 6 engine in mine.

BTw, im sure it must have cost an arm n a leg to get urs that powerful, must admit, the engine looks absolutely brilliant

Cheers for the info guys.

Just sold my MY98 PPP wagon and thinking about what next. Wife has agreed that I can have another one (which is fortunate or I'm sure we'd have had an argument about it ) and I'm thinking import this time. Still love the classic shape and have always preferred the wagon shape over the 4 door. Therefore I was obviously thinking Sti V or VI wagon, or possibly Sti 7 wagon but having driven a bugeye I found it to be a numbing experience by comparison to the classic, and expect the Sti would be the same.

So, for a car that I would be keeping in standard(ish) engine form, would be looking for a few tweeks to put it in the 300BHP kind of area, would there really be any noticable difference between the Sti V and VI ?

I am not an expert on the differences between different versions so for a definitive answer you will have to ask elsewhere.
However as far as I know the STi 5 and the STi 6 engines are virtually identical with the STi 6 running on a VF28.
The only striking difference I am aware of is that the STi 6 has a clutch inhibition switch for starting.

yep my my00 wrx ra has the clutch starter, strangely I am running a vf29 basically same as a vf28 though

You mean they made it for Americans ?

I though this was a USA only type feature. Only time I've ever seen these is driving hire cars in the USA.

But just to add, does the switch mean that you don't have to push the clutch down and you can press a switch instead, or that the switch is built into the clutch somewhere (probably on the pedal).

the switch is built into the pedal, so you have to fully depress the clutch before the car will start. its advisable on most cars to push the clutch down before you start the car anyway.

every time i start a car i push the clutch down lol

I think basically its to give the starter motor/battery an easier time - as in engine only rather than engine and neutral gearbox, especially if someone has left it in gear!

Stops remote starting too
