Default Injectors question

Hi there,

Do I need larger injectors ?

MY02 STI uk, Prodrive exhaust with sports cat,Tek3, APS TMIC, cold air feed, breather mod, GT spec headers to go on.

Another remap due soon (due to headers).

Long term goal TD05/06-20g turbo.

Will I need 650cc injectors at some point, or are my existing ones ok ?
Any harm in fitting bigger ones ?
Best place to buy them from ?

Thanks.

anyone care to comment please ?

If bigger injectors were fitted, can the car run ok until a remap had taken place ?

Mark what power you have currently?
I saw in a friends car that after 350-360ps it needs bigger injectors but this isn't same for all STI's as your tuner may adjust your car to work perfectly with lower IDC.
Of course if your goal is 400 and more at the flywheel you need them ASAP.

Car is running around 325 at the moment, and headers are to be fitted soon.

Didn't want to go for another remap once headers were fitted to find out that the recommendation would be to get bigger injectors and then the potential of the car is down... Like I said, goal by end of this year is to have a TD05/06-20G fitted and aiming for around 380+ ........

wait until you fit your td05/20g otherwise it will be another trip to the mapper each time you mod.

Mark if you add headers you increase volumetric efficiency of your engine and it's the same as you fit a bigger turbo.
IMHO don't change headers if you plan to go TD05/06 route otherwise you'll loose low down remarkably, doesn't matter what mods you have, what matters is the overall volumetric efficiency and this will increase with the headers.
Try first and then decide.

OK, Jim.

Headers will be fitted in the next 4 weeks, so I'll report back then
