Centre section spot the difference classic sti vs classic wrx
I need to get a classic STi centre section from a breakers. Central Subaru have none and Grade A want to charge £60 plus vat, for what I am told should cost £20. So I am going to ring non speciailist (local) breakers.
What I need to be sureof is: How do I know it is an STi centre section (from a classic) they have found and not a WRX or UK classic centre section? Is the a code to look for or an outer girth I can measure?
Thanks in advance.

I dont know about the STi centre section, but i believe the Prodrive centre section is identical. The catalysed and non-catalysed sections look identical. The difference is in the numbers stamped on : Standard Cat & Resonator has PMFA6 on the Resonator and Subaru on the Cat shield.
The prodrive centre section which is just resonated has:PMFA7 on the resonator and PMFA5 on the pseudo Cat part.

if yopu look in the end with the bulge in, the catted one you will see a honeycomb grill the resonator will be empty.
I'd go for the Magnex myself but personal preference.
Try www.hdcsubaru.com for an STi centre (all classic shapes are the same I believe)
