Teenage daughter is a gangsta rappa !!!
During a "heated" discussion with said smart **** last night, she put her *point* across with some bizzare hand gesticulations similar to those as seen on MTV Base
I didn't know weather to laugh, cry, or pop a cap in her ***
Anyone else's kids picking up this stupid behavoir?

Both my teenaged lads do it, one at 18 and the other 15.
It's just a phase, try to ignore it.
Oh, and didn't your dad ever tell you not to argue with a woman? Total waste of time, mate they don't listen, they don't argue logically, and if you "win", they cry and you feel awful!
Try two teenaged lads: I still have to get between 'em, and they're BOTH bigger than me now

not old enough
I'm 33, "Missy Elliot" is nearly 14.
19 was young I admit, me and her mother have long since parted, but we all ( new partners included) get on very well
Missy has been "playing up" at home lately, so she is currently spending a few days at Boot Camp - my house

BET and MTV have a lot to answer for.
I used to be able to understand most 'ebonics' but this 'fo shizzle' stuff, WTF? Funny moment at the airport last night. A couple of wannabe gansta boys, having a convo in this new language, another guy walks up, obviously knows the chaps, they are still conversing in this alien tongue, the new chappy, rather loudly says to them both "*****'s, *please* speak english!" Made me laugh

mj, I'm in a very similar position to yourself and have to contend with MTV Base 24/7 as well. What they don't realise is that it's all been done before 10-15 years ago ! Although she's always 'dissing' my taste in music I don't think she realises that I used to listen to NWA, Ice Cube, Cypress Hill etc. before she was toilet trained !
I think its funny that most of todays yoof don't realise Ali G was supposed to be irony !

I just poke fun. I wouldn't be able to stop myself. Even when wandering round the shops I can't help myself pointing out the Chavs and Neds just loud enough for them to hear. Funny thing is as soon a they see someone laughing at them they stop acting a tw*t as if they knew they look stupid all along.
Just a rebellious phase me thinks. Looking for attention. It's just a whole generation doing it in unison at the moment.

mate teenage yrs are the most dangerous yrs for kids, your kids need u, spend time with them and take them out yourself instead of them hanging about with their mates who can be a bad influence

Kids always try to prove they are adults all the time. having their own speach is just another part of it. I wouldnt worry she just trying to find her boundaries and your limits, using different harder vocals on you she hopes to sound adult and knowing to get her point accross.
I'd just put your point accross - listen to hers then give her time to think about what she said to you.
As a teenager didnt you hate your parents being right? But didnt you always say after the heated arguement - they were right in the end???
She is not playing you up she is just being a rebelious "teenager!" thats what teens do.

My daughter has taken to waving her finger and her head at the same time (Oprah Winfrey / Jerry Springer, trailer trash stylee) and saying things like "dont even go there" and "you are soooo not fair"
Too many American "teenage" movies, "Friends" and "Jerry Springer" combined. She just soooo does it to do my head in

Vicci Pollard is a non starter - she knows all the lines and gestures, she would probably just laugh at me .
I can cope with the general teen angst, attitude, and smart **** comments. I was a little **** when I was that age.
TBH it's probably me - It's just I HATE all this stupid "home boy" wave your arms about/scratch your gusset type crap that these idiots do anyway , to see my kid do it in an argument winds the hell up out of me. The fact that she resorts to apeing this annoying **** in a heated moment makes me think that she *thinks* it is normal
Maybe I'll just pop a cap in her *** and throw her in a dumpster after all
