Question PVRs - Tivo to Sky Plus 160?

Hi folks

I've had my Tivo since they were launched and its a great bit of kit, limited by the single channel CODEC and (now) small HD capacity. I cant be bothered opening her up and upgrading the HD, so thinking of Ebaying her and getting the new Sky Plus 160 - 80 hours worth of no-loss recording and twin codecs

I still doubt the SKys software is as good as Tivos Thums Up/Down system and Season pass manager, so in two minds.....

Anyone gone from Tivo to Sky Plus here and whats your thoughts?

cheers

Neil

Upgrading the discs in a Tivo is a doddle, especially if you have the new discs ready prepared - just open the box, swap them over and reassemble. As it happens I have a spare pair of ready-to-go 120GB Tivo discs for sale - PM me if you're interested

Gordo - yes, Mediacentre, had a quick look at it but its not quite as intuitive as the Tivo is it, although has the additoonal functionality.

I find the main limitation of he Tivo is its single channel codec, so I guess the only option is the Sky plus. Thanks for the offer of hd's anyhow.

If only the made a dual channel Tivo.....

Will give Sky a call later.

I love my TiVo, its in perfect tune with my viewing tastes and I normally watch the TiVo suggestions instead of broadcast TV.

Wouldnt go to Sky+
