Ok, so we need a volunteer to test this out - who's willing to drive past the old Gatso a little over the limit eh?!

Seriously - has anybody actually tried this? Seems logical to me.

Cool

Interesting, who wants to be the guniea pig then?, only thing is you will never know if the judge got laid the night before and therefore how u might be treated in a hearing.

I recall someone on this BBS got a NIP from a Gatso saying they were doing "X" in a "Y Zone". They simply wrote back saying "I was NOT doing X".

They never heard anything back and never got prosecuted!

Food for thought......

On a slightly different note...

I recently was forced to speed through a Gatso.

Someone pulled out in front of me on 40 mph dual carriageway. I couldn't brake cos I was being tailgated by, you guessed it, an alleged ultimate driving machine.

My only choice was to go for the outside lane but I knew someone was coming so I had to floor it to do this safely.

Which meant I ended going through a Gatso in a 40 mph limit at 60 mph. Fortunately it wasn't armed.

What would my defence be assuming I admitted to the offence?

I think if this was seen by a traffic cop they would have pulled the blind idiot not the guy having to take action to avoid a pile up.

This is what annoys me about Gatsos, it's hard to defend against speeding but they don't put into context what you are doing.

Cheers

Simon
