Default PPP 320 ?

Went to Dealership yesterday and he recons he is able to order the 320 PPP for the 2005MY WRX STI. He said all the WR1's are sold and Prodrive at present require ECU's to be reurned for re-chipping as there is not enough floating stock to supply in advance for the 2005MY yet. This means your car will be off the road for 1 week for the PPP to be fitted at the moment but this should change soon as 2005MY ECU's become more available.

What say you lot ? Dealers do talk alot of Boll*cks sometimes so thought I would put it to you lot

I reckon a 320bhp PPP is probably on the cards..no reason for him to bullsh1t you unless it was to get you signed up for a new MY05 STi.

If only, if only - that would make the ideal power (assuming torque climbs at same rate) - most people wouldnt need to 'go off piste!' with unapproved mods. - Annoying, when you know fulwell that they could do it without any probs................

Mike woods stated a couple of days ago, that the 05 Sti PPP is the same as the 04 one. AFIK there is no 320 one in development.

Why do they play these games with us ? Does it really inspire us with confidence to spend our hard earned cash with them ?

If someone ripped you off like this would you really just lie down and take it ?

When I order my 2005MY (hopefully before xmas) I will order the PPP at the same time and I request the 320BHP to be stated in the receipt. Woe betide them if that is not what I get !!!!

i thought the reason power was limited to 305 on the PPP was due to the turbo. Mike W has said before that an increase would take you outside the safety zone of the turbo.

The TSL triple 3 package doesn't require a new turbo, are you saying that this 333bhp upgrade is unsafe?

Not so much as unsafe, more to do with the turbo working outside its design parameters, basically trying to make too much boost and possibly over heating, thus increasing intake temps.

I believe the 320 PPP fitted to the WR1 is as far as Prodrive feel they can safely take it for 500 cars. For mass production(and therefore warranty risk) 300 is probably the max.

more likely to keep there 60,000 mile warrenty rather then worry purly about warmer intake temperatures

Isn''t the turbo on the WR1 slightly different to the STi's?
