i"ve ordered a set but have not come yet
all fittings are laser cut so my understanding is you just screw em in
(they are different for new age and classic) so this would sugest not too much potch

Looking at Scott's site it makes you wonder how Subaru can justify twice the price for exactly the same item, just made by them instead....gotta admit that i do like the official ones with prodrive written on them instead....

My local dealers are now selling a set of four with fittings for £200 inc vat
they tell me that they are from the same supplier as the o.e ones but have cut out the middleman or summot!
But imho they are still way too dear

I've spent this evening fitting the Scott Lowe flaps to my '05 STI.
The good news: now they're fitted, they look great and are excellent quality. I've no doubt they'll do the job well. The bare aluminium brackets look a bit nasty though, I think I'll be painting them black to match the car soon.
The bad news: I've spent about 3 1/2 hrs fitting them - so much for the 20 minute job I was promised. You DO have to drill holes in your scooby, and so you'll need some Waxoyl to stop the rot setting in. I don't have any, so I've just put some grease in the holes for now - the flaps will have to come off in due course to have this sorted. If you drop the spring clip nuts that hold on the front ones, you're stuffed - they can drop between the inner skin and the wheelarch liner and, trust me, they're a total b*stard to get back out again.
Tips:
- Tools required: 8mm and 10mm ratchet spanners, pliers, #1 crosspoint screwdriver, jack, wheel brace, 5.5mm and 7mm drills, centre punch
- Don't waste too much time trying to interpret the diagrams in the fitting instructions. It's much easier to see how they fit by jacking up the car, taking the wheel off and offering up the flap. It's pretty obvious which existing fixing holes you're going to use, and where you'll need the drill.
- The aforementioned clip nuts don't actually clip - they're just not tight enough - so you'll have trouble getting them to stay in place while you screw in the two M5 bolts. I used a blob of grease to make them slightly sticky so they don't drop down behind the wheelarch liner (again
).
- When the instructions say to bolt the flap to the bracket, the middle hole is the one to use (both front & rear).
- The rear flaps are much easier to fit than the fronts.
- When fitting the front flaps, you'll have to peel back the wheelarch liner. Be brave - keyhole surgery isn't the way forward IMHO.
- Remember to do up the wheelnuts when you put the wheels back on!

I've bought some black ones with prodrive logos on the P1WOC group buy (special order from Scott lowe) they do look good quality but I am going to spray the fittings black before I fit them and get some waxoyl. The instructions look pretty useless to me but I am sure I can figure it out. There is a guide to fitting very similiar mudflaps on this site

Material - 3/8" scrap reinforced rubber conveyor belt from a stone quarry. Black. No logos
. Custom cut to size with Stanley knife, with difficulty. FOC
Fittings - Big FO rivets - 5/8" heads, 7mm holes. FOC from a contact at a Ford dealer
Angle Brackets - £1.50 worth of 1/2" x 1/2" aluminium angle, cap head allen bolts, washers and nuts
Not a scoob though - 205 pocket rocket for road rallying

I did report on them - look back a few posts!
I've since taken them back off the car to paint the brackets black. I've also got a spray can of Waxoyl in an attempt to rustproof the holes I've drilled in the wheelarches, and I need to enlarge the holes in the rear flaps slightly so I can rotate them a bit - they're splayed out slightly with the standard holes.

The back ones are much easier, yes. There's only one hole to drill each side and it's much more accessible - plus you can easily get to both sides of the hole to rustproof it. The spring clips go on much more easily too - no need to peel back the wheel arch liners, and they do stay in place.
On the minus side, my rear flaps have ended up splayed outwards slightly - do report back on whether they end up nice & straight or not, ta.

Rear mupflaps are level (but I took care to make sure after your comments)
