Question Damn speedo!

Hi All,

I am in need of your help! I have recently bought a MY93 WRX and the odometer does not work. Both the trip meter and speed indication work correctly (although under reads by approx 10mph).

I have removed the head unit and the converter (SE Transmissions) is attached directly to the speedo head unit which then 'plugs' into the cable (speedo is mechanical) upon reassembling.

Is the speedo head broken or could the converter be the issue? I have searched this site and speedo head problems seem to be relatively rare and the converter should be attached at the gearbox end???

Would be glad for your help and/ or suggestions. Thanks!

Just bought a MY96 STI with similar problems i.e. odometer not working and recording 10mph slower than it should.

Spoke to AP Motors who specilise in imports and they recommended a new speedo @ £100 +vat.

Might be your only option.
