Default fuel pump upgrade

hi,

I have had a ECUTEK custom-remap along with replacement exhaust with one race-cat in the center-section done to my STI -2003.

I am a total novice when it comes to tuning of cars and how things work so please bare with me...

My tuner recommends a Walbro 255 fuel-pump upgrade.
I have read that many people also replace the stock fuel pressure regulator with an adjustable one.

1. Do I have to replace the stock fuel regulator when replacing the stock fuel
pump?
2. If not why do so many add an aftermarket fuel regulator?

There has been people not replacing the regulator and find that the higher power pump over powers it..

Others have got away with it..

for the cost of a FSE reg is it worth messing about and taking the risk?

Thanks,
How much should a FSE reg cost, my tuner sells these around 180 Euros, is this price ok or can I buy somewhere else cheaper?
How would you measure the right pressure, Deltadash analyse?

that seems expensive..

try ringing Mark at www.lateralperformance.co.uk

It comes with a small gauge which you fit to the regulator.
