I hear that Subaru dealers have dropped their servicing costs....my MY03 WRX is coming up on its first service, any idea how much i should be paying...i'd like to have a proper stamp for the book, but not if a reputable local chap i know can do it a lot cheaper!!!

I paid £165 with SIDC discount at Sparshatts of Botley.

Not bad for an oil and filter change NOT

Bell & colvill quotes me 800 quid for a 90k service but when i picked it up it was only 684 quid, think they compensated me for running the service book over on road test

Watcha chap, are you up at Fairmile this Sunday??
At that price i assume that was the big on, cam belt and all.....i'll certainly be going main dealer when that comes around, but at £160 or so i'll be going main dealer for the annual service as well....i used to pay that much for my Saxo!!!!
Thanks for posting guys!

MY03 service at main dealers:

10,000 mile was £170
20,000 mile was £205

My Clio 172 was also just as much to service (though I think some of the bigger services are quite pricey!).

I am not sure you could do that without invalidating the warranty..... they have been deemed to be changed at those intervals to keep the car running correctly.

10k and 20k there is no Air filter change anyway. Brake fluid change was the main difference between the 10k and 20k.

The warranty/service book tells you what the check of replace at each service.

Bell and Colville just quoted me £185 which i thought was okay.....cheeky buggers though tried to tell me that as it was the first service the car needed the underside cleaning and a special wax quoting applying....to not do this is to invalidate the anti-corrosion warranty!!! All for just another £185....do they think i'm a mug...how can they give an anti-corrosion warranty but only if you pay another £185 a year later....get fcuked i say!!!!

See you sunday, probably be there fairly early on, i'll reserve the grass if i can!!

I'm afraid to say, I think Sparsh_ts dream up their pricing. Had PPP fitted to my 04sti, Subaru website £1995.00 inc fitting + vat. My bill £2050, of this £10 for hire car insurance. I didn't take a lot of notice at time as wanted to go and play, but I don't think I will be spending to much time down there in the future. I will try a different dealer who might appreciate it a bit more. Anyway all they want to tell you is how many cars they sell. Got my 02 scoobie from Mill Lane and it glistened, not like this one.

The only reason i ask is that im fitting a godspeed brake kit, and replacing the crappy fluid with dot 5.1 stuff, so dont really want them changing it.....im not overly bothered about the brakes being out of warranty (as thats all it affects) as im upgrading them and have a limited warranty with godspeed.

Filter, i can just put the old one back in i suppose.....

Neil.
