Red face Anyone else got doom3 yet?

Apprarntly most stores got their shipments this weekend and some of them sent them out by mistake.
My mate got his 2 weeks early due to some ******** at the place he preordered it from sending it out already.
Ho hum.
Says it runs like a dog on max settings on his P4 2ghz with geforce 4.

Hello

As I mentioned somewhere in a thread below: My 512mb, AMD 1.4, GeForce 2 64mb PC will not even run it properly at 800*600 in low detail.

Time for an upgrade I guess.

Steve.

XP3200, 1gig DDR400, 9800 XT runs fine at 1024x768 Max detail.

Scary as **** though, was playing with my headphones on at night with all the lights off and it's designed to make you jump and p00 your pants.

Have to agree with that, after playing for a while last night at one point the lights keep failing and it goes completely black as you turn the torch on you are suddenly faced with a mutated human

On my PC ( XP1800 768mb ram 9600pro ) the game seems fine at 1024 x 768 med detail. Although I think a processor upgrade is my next step......

Got it connected to my 150" projector. Lights off, actually screamed when a monster ripped open some steps on a stairway and jumped out.

Runs OK on mine. Athlon XP2600+, 512MB RAM, 128MB ATI Radeon Pro 9700 at 1280x1024 (that's the resolution of the TFT monitor, so I try not to run at anything else).

Agree that it's scary as **** though. Atmosphere reminds me of how scary we all thought the original Doom was when it came out. And it's a bit like Half Life, too.
