2005 STi - Changes for the better ?????
Now maybe someone like Simon or John F could correct me on this, but I was never under the impression that the sti needed more grip on 225 tires. In fact I rarley have heard anyone complain (quite the contrary) about the grip even from the 205 tires? So now that Subaru is going to 235 tires I can't help but think it is overkill- and can only contribute to more of a propensity to aquaplane, to follow ridges in the road, and to slide less gracfully when pushed? Obviously these large tires will be a great boon for the car on the track and on the autobahn. Last I wonder know that Subaru have widened the rear track and the wheels and changed the geometry around, if it will still be possible to use the older 225 size tires?
Proboy, I would not be so sure about the UK not getting a very similar spec sti- especially as Subaru went to all the trouble to widen the rear track and put a slight blister on the rear arches- something I'd say will be a running change to the whole production line for all sti's I'd say, though I could be wrong.

Its cost me £26500 standard sti cost (although I think the costs may now have gone up a bit), and I'm having a full milltek, sti front lip spolier, AST coilovers all round, whiteline anti roll, spec c fuel pump etc. It's basically a Type 25 but without the 2.5 conversion - the new 05 had ****loads of differences to the 04, too many to list (but will do if you wish) - I got mine through Iain at Litchfields, its the first batch in the UK along with his car! For me I ordered a WR1 and cancelled it quick smart when I realised it was basically a bag of **** compared with the 05 JDM (that was for your ears only!) - anything you need to know please ask. Dean.
