Question if its not MAF then....?

it must be O2?
I have noticed the idle has been a little unsteady when hot recently.
not tragically so, such as when my MAF was failing a year ago, but obviously now Im paranoid about it.

I ran the car to hot, idled and disconnected the MAf and it stalled instantly.
I performed an ECU reset (guy in petrol station thought I was a nutter!) and it reset within 5 seconds and car ran well afterwards.

However, when depressing the clutch (junction etc) then revs fall to 1200, then slowly down to about 700 but then just blip up a tad to 750/800.
its this blip that Im concerned about.

what do you think, check the lambda?

how?

regards

Andy

This happened to mine as well, replaced the MAF which did nothing so decided to replace the lambda and if by magic it was cured

From the tests you've already done, doesn't sound like either really! The only test for the lambda, other than resetting the ECU, is to simply unplug it, and drive around with it disconnected to see if it makes any difference. You haven't got an AFR gauge installed then...?

yup, got a dawes afr.
just wanted to do the mechanical checks to be sure, to be sure.
what do you reckon then, its hardly hunting, just dips ever so slightly below and then a tiny correction in idle and its cool.

Andy

ps, my lambda sensor is the halfords generic one spliced into the scooby loom

Is your Dawes AFR behaving itself? No, wouldn't have thought an ICSV clean would hurt...
