Default is my restrictor in wrong place

Just been playing with my car, trying to get to the bottom of the low boost problem. Found that the restrictor is in the pipe from the intake pipe to the boost solenoid and also it looks to have quite a big hole. I thought it was supposed to be in the pipe from the solenoid down to the wastegate actuator and have quite a small hole. can somebody please put me straight.
cheers in advance.
chris.
its a my 93 wrx

About 1.2mm I think, but not sure.
If you have low boost run with this pipe removed. It may make a little difference but not alot. It's main roll is tp prevent boost spiking.

on a MY92-96 car the restrictor size is 2.0mm positioned as you mentioned.

Cheers for the replies fellas. The one in it probably is about 2mm. I ran the car briefly with wastegate actuator pipe disconnected just to confirm that it will boost higher so i think it`s a solenoid problem. I`ve also ordered an mbc so i think i`ll wait for that to arrive and give that a go rather than messing about with different sized restrictors etc. It seems like the best solution . somebody please tell me if i`m wrong.
