Question Parking at Lakeside shopping centre?

Just trying to gauge the feeling of parking Scoobs and other performance cars at the Lakeside shopping centre at the moment?

I've been conned in taking the family shopping there next week but I remember a couple of years ago security wasn't particularly great. There were quite a few instances of cars being screwed in the daytime.

Have things improved?

Thanks

Nathan..

Which Lakeside would that be?

As I have travelled to most shopping centres in the country I can say there are at least 5 Lakeside shopping centres!

All were a bit dodgy

Personally I'd rather not risk it there, there have previously been spated of car theft from there and the security isn't all that...

i live about a mile away and so have parked there regularly for the past 2-3 years (at least once a week).

Its never crossed my mind about it being an unsafe place to park and Ive happily left the car there for hours at a time, even late at night. This is both in the open car parks and multistoreys

i do see guards roaming about in the vans mainly in the mutlistoreys

Personally i think youre being overcautious

Yep, maybe but it comes from having my car screwed big style at Bluewater when it first opened.

yeah i must admit i dont like leaving my car in car parks especially cinemas late at nights, or just on the street

not only is there risk of malicious damage but accidental damage from idiots who cant park or ding doors

my dad was also car jacked in his scoob out side his house (threatened with a baseball bat by 2 men), yet 3 years later he still has it,and it never pput me off mine

these bad thing happen. the only good thing is that like most crimes they are preety rare

True.

I hate door dents and I hate the people who don't have enough respect to be careful around other peoples stuff. As for the Scum who car jack people I could go on all night.

Still not sure if I'll take the Scoob, may try and steal the wifes Fester

I park there and Bluewater down the road on a regular basis and never had any bother.
Parking on an empty level or well out of the way is a bad idea according to the police, I've stuck to that advice.

id def take the scoob, lakeside when its not too busy is like a mini monaco circuit. lots of fun on the massiv roundabouts

i always park in the basement multistory at house of fraser.
Usually the only place where theres plenty of room so u can take 2 spaces to aviod dents
thats what the guards park up to. not that I was ever concerned by security

Gimme some notice and I'll get Nicki to park one of our cars on each side of you to protect you from dents, either that or you can park on our drive 15 minutes walk away. Seriously though I park down there pretty regularly without any cares beyond the ever-present fear of people opening their doors into you. Lakeside sucks though(looks particularly nasty at mom as they are still refurbishing)...go to Bluewater(larger parking spaces too).

You'll be fine Nathan , I have left the Subaru and previously my convertible there for long periods of time and have never had a problem.

Likewise with Bluewater mate.

Happy shopping

Hmm....Well i got to both Lake side and Blue Water..and have enough distractions on my dash to keep a 3year old busy for weeks...

Have had no problems...ofcourse you will if you park out of the way somewhere...but i usually park where ther are allot of people infront of the entrance..

Lol, thanks for all the replies.

Well I took the Scoob and it was fine

I just took two spaces. The Porker 911 I was parked next to also had two spaces

Cman, if I knew you were that close I would have popped round and shown you what a real new age Scoob should go like

Bluewater is my usual destination but the family wanted a change. Apparently its a bit tooooooo Gucci

Nathan..
