Which fuel is best .Advice from prodrive if poss.Mike
Apologies if this has been answered a thousand times before,or is a dumb question but
Is Superunleaded suitable to put in my wr1,the dealer says yes??
Is there anything better I can put in,which wont damage engine?
Heard of Optimax on here a few times,is this available at the pumps??
Or is it a bottle additive ??
Previously put normal unleaded in my standard rb5(hence I know jack s**t about good fuel /bad fuel) without problems,but obviously wr1 needs something better.
Your advice would be gratefully received.Thankyou.

The RB5 needed something better too, to be honest...
Optimax (Shell) is likely to be the best. Not available at every Shell station (apparently), but is at all that I've come across.
Failing that, Esso SUL is the best of the other SULs.
The WR1 should be able to cope with low-octane (NUL) fuel with minimal problems, but you should also find that the Optimax is worth the additional money - it's a shame to cut corners on fuel (& therefore performance) now you've got the thing
. I've also found better economy on the SULs, frequently almost enough to pay for the additional fuel cost

I should add to that - Optimax will vary somewhat, typically dependant on the garage - it's all to do with turnover & how much the fuel deteriorates.
I find that from a high-turnover garage (e.g. the first stop up the M1 from London - vaguely handy for me) is typically excellent & noticeably so in every way! However, my 'local' is a bit pants... but the engine is still 'quieter' on it than on anything else we can get in the UK. Esso is most certainly next best - BP Ultimate I would personally place as an average NUL - not evern bad SUL - det all over the place.
But you'll get different responses from different cars - try a few & see what the difference is! Give it a couple of tanks rather than just one, and for a real test, try to keep to the same garage...
