Default How much does your scoob owe you?

Afternoon,

Been sitting down today working out how much money I have spent on the car since it's purchase (modifications etc).

It's not too frightening (compared to what others have spent) but has anyone else done this or is it just too frightening a thought?

Jim

Don't work it out - When you know its enough to buy another car (in fact, more than my scoob is worth !!) it seems expensive -

Doesn't seem to stop me though (which is even scarier )

(Try somewhere >7K <10k......)

mgg, if you don't wany too spend loads then steer well clear of the meets mate.

Once you see what others have done to their cars you won't be able to leave it standard for long!

Oh.... in reply to the thread, about £5,000.00 on mods and fitting, in hindsight wish I'd saved the money and put it towards an STI

I once dropped a pound inside the handbrake shroud.

So basically it owes me a pound.

I tell a lie, I found 40 pence when I hoovered in back in 2002.

So according to my Maths, it owes me 70 pence.

About £1900 in mods

and £800 in servicing for almost 4 years (and £300 of that was for a cambelt before someone warned me about dealer servicing charges - served me right for being a lazy sod and not doing myself)

Plus £50 to sort the geometry

no repairs required

Not bad for 4 years eh ? Ok, perhaps the fuel bill is a little less impressive

They do cost a fair bit to buy ,maintain, mod etc,but they pay you back every time you drive your pride and joy.As the man said you only live once so you may as well spend it on something that gives you pleasure.
I do try and save a few sheckels for the wife and kids though!!!!!!!!!!

mods: £1200

Maintenance/repairs/servicing: £2400

feckin bag-o-****e - still miss it though (I must be an idiot)

8.2K over 4 years (car was bought new), this includes all expenses except petrol. The car is almost standard apart from wheels and exhaust.
