How much and how good? Please tell me

 

I don't know where you are in the North West but I can recommend In Car in Carlisle - sorry I don't have the number to hand but I'm at work at the moment They sorted out several problems with my Cobra (and supplied a VSIB certificate) after the installation had been badly bodged by the windscreen fitter used by my dealer

 

I'd highly recommend Auto-Tecnica in Mirfield (just outside Huddersfield, West Yorkshire).
Excellent garage/dealer, who do mostly imports (i.e. STi/Evo) and UK Spec Turbo's.

Will fit an excellent Cat 1 alarm for a good price, give them a ring on 01924 494 884.

Excellent mechanic, and Steve owner will do you a brilliant price.

Sorry, the alarm's they fit are Scorpion I think, which from people who I know have had them, are very good.
Price wise you'd have to ring them, but I'm sure the price will be excellent.

Thanks for the advice, I should have been more specific in that I live in the Blackburn area of Lancs. But I am willing to travel to get a quality service.

 

If you want Clifford and are willing to travel to Leeds, I'd strongly recommend Maximum Impact. Speak to Max on 0113 2441448. He's now installed a fair few for the Importing Imprezas mailing list, including mine, and he does an excellent job. Can't recommend him enough, as he really knows his onions.

Whatever you go for, get the VSIB certificate and be sure they've worked on Imprezas before. If you've got an MY00 and they tell you you'll need an extra motor in the door, go somewhere else... Subaru garages (and everyone) just love to be able to blame something else for faults and, unfortunately, they're normally right. I saw a P1 that had had a phone kit butchered into it at my last service. They'd taken power from an alarm wire. Consequently, the alarm wasn't happy. There's some muppets out there !

 

I was quite happy with WT Alarms in Walkden (edge of Bolton) who fitted a Cat1 Sigma to my car. However, I found the plastic trim on the steering column wasn't fitted back correctly and I had to re-arrange it myself. Otherwise, seem to know their stuff and they're VSIB approved.
Check them out first though to see what you think of them.

Another vote for Max at Max Impact in Leeds, he only fits Cliffords and has done stacks of Imprezas. He is also the north of England rep for the VSIB.
