Default PPP on MY03 WRX = What performance increase for insurance ?

How much do you say the performance is increased by for insurance purposes on MY03 WRX for those insurers that don't list PPP ?

Thanks,
Dunk

About 15-20%.
L & V didn't list PPP, so it went down as engine mods and it added nothing to the premium

Hello Dunk

Heard you were buying my old car

Butty is correct, 15-20% and Liverpool Victoria didn't charge me anymore for fitting PPP either.

Enjoy the car, you've got a good one there

Thumbs up

Just insured MY04 WRX PPP with L&V and can confirm with Butty that no increase in premium. Make sure that they put it on the insurance docs though Mine says 2004 WRX Prodrive.

Going by what Subaru & Prodrive post on performance figures you can work out the increase very easily. Stock STi produces 265bhp, Prodrive PPP ups this to 305bhp giving a grand increase of 15%. Obviously these figures will fluctuate between vehicles but from the insurers point of view those are the numbers specified in black and white so that's what they'll accept.

...and for my next magical maths trick: multidimensional integration (aka How to blag your way through University)

If you're going with L&V, sounds like this won't be a problem. If you're with an insureer who bands the power increases from the ECU remap then DON'T claim it as 15% as this will probably screw you over. If the TOTAL increase is around 15% from all the PPP mods combined, the ECU is likely providing <10% of that. If you catch my drift. Diference between <10% and >10% ECU upgrade on my insurance (Admiral) was around £800!!!
